George Brown College Scholarships For International Students 2024

George Brown College Scholarships are now available to international students studying in Canada. George Brown College provides international students with various awards, scholarships and bursaries; full-time and part-time GBC students alike may qualify. Their Awards program provides financial assistance so students can excel academically.

Students applying through STU-VIEW as international students and selecting International Center Scholarships in order to be eligible for any of the awards listed below.

Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs

Assist on Global Service in Canada Ltd. (Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc.) has provided funds for the Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs at George Brown College. This award is available to any registered international students studying this category of program in any year of study and any year of enrollment at George Brown.

The applicant must fulfill the following criteria in order to be successful:

Students must maintain a 3.0 Minimum GPA or higher, and demonstrate active community participation (both college-based and external).

International Centre Student Bursary

George Brown College welcomes international students of any year of study for all programs with this award available to them.

To be eligible, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

Student should demonstrate financial need. Furthermore, the student must participate actively in his or her community (college and/or external).

International Student Leadership Award

Award eligibility extends to any international student graduating from their program.

The applicant must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered:

Students must be international students with at least a 3.50 grade point average and actively involved in community affairs both inside and outside of college.

International Student ESL Scholarship

Award eligibility extends to any international student graduating from their program.

The applicant must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered:

Students must be international students with at least a 3.50 grade point average and actively involved in community affairs both inside and outside of college.

International Student Scholarship

Award eligibility extends to any international student graduating from their program.

The applicant must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered:

Students must be international students with at least a 3.50 grade point average and actively involved in community affairs both inside and outside of college.

Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students

Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc. has provided funds to establish the Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students at George Brown College. This award is open to registered international students enrolled in second or higher year of any program within this category at GBC.

The applicant must satisfy all of the following criteria in order to qualify:

Student must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to qualify, must be registered domestic student, and be actively engaged with community (college and external).

Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Certificate

Students enrolled in any year of study of the Certificate, Post-grad program are eligible for this award.

To be eligible, applicants must fulfill these criteria:

Minimum GPA requirement of 3.5. Students must demonstrate involvement within their community (college and/or external).

Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Diploma/Degree

Academic Area has donated funds towards the Postsecondary Scholarship for International Students. The award is open to Diploma or Degree program students entering their second, third or fourth years of study with approved international work/study experiences in their Diploma or Degree studies.

The applicant must meet all of the following criteria for consideration of a scholarship grant:

Student must be an international student with at least a 3.5 grade point average and participate actively in community service projects both inside and outside their institution.

Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries

Scotiabank and Scotiabank Bursaries have come forward with generous support of $100,000 (100 bursaries at $1,000 each) for international students studying in Canada.

The applicant must satisfy the following criteria for consideration of his or her application:

Students enrolled in full-time programs must demonstrate financial need.

Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarships

Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarships are open to newly admitted postsecondary (diploma, degree or post-graduate certificate) George Brown College students beginning their first year of study in any post-secondary (diploma, degree or post-graduate certificate) program offered at GBC. Students from academic partner institutions in the Caribbean, China, Central/South America or India are strongly encouraged to apply.

Every academic year, two scholarships of $5,000 will be presented.

Qualifications

Be an international student (require a valid Canadian Study Permit). Begin their postsecondary program full time within their first year with an outstanding academic record (3.0 cumulative GPA or above).
These activities have demonstrated leadership within their learning environments and contributed significantly to academic activities or student activities such as clubs, the Student Association or volunteer work.

Woori Education Scholarship

Award presented to an international student based on academic performance and community involvement. In order to qualify, an applicant must:

Are You an International Student With a Valid Study Permit and Enrolled in Full-time Diploma or Degree Program
Participated in activities that made an impactful contribution to other students, their Department/School or the College community
George Brown College scholarships, awards and bursaries may change at any time without prior notification and are subject to conditions set by either the college and/or donor of each award.

Log into your STU-VIEW account. Navigating to the Student Awards tab. Initiating an Application for Student Awards. Eventually you will reach the Select Aid Year and Period Page.
Carefully read through and understand the instructions shown at the top of the page before clicking Continue at the bottom. Now you will arrive at the Select an Application page.

STEP 2: COMPLETE YOUR STUDENT PROFILE

Please be aware: the student profile is where you can apply for both College-Wide and Divisional awards.

STEP 3: APPLY FOR ADDITIONAL AWARDS

Scan through to view any additional awards that could apply.

STEP 4: REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION(S)
STEP 5: CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION(S)

Checking the status of your applications:

Click on the Student Awards tab, select View My Student Awards and continue until each award has been made visible and reviewed for status.
